Software Engineer (C++/Python – Linux experience)

This is a London-based hedge fund based looking to grow their technology team with enthusiastic, reliable, smart people. To meet the demand across the business, they are seeking an experienced software engineer to join their close-knit, motivated team of computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians and others.

Working collaboratively across the business, there is a huge amount of greenfield development for you to get stuck into. Examples of some of the varied tasks your work will involve include:

  • Designing, developing and implementing trading infrastructure
  • Building data analytics tools and engines that enhance the ability to analyse data
  • Learning and deploying new technologies (they love open source)
  • Complex computational and data-related problems, implementing innovative solutions
  • Improving execution/alphas through backtesting/analysis

This role would be perfect for someone who is highly adaptable, an outstanding communicator and demonstrates a passion for problem-solving through programming.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Substantial programming experience is essential
  • A genuine love of coding; with a desire for your code to impact the real-world
  • Deep-level knowledge of data structures and algorithms, proficient in applying this knowledge to real-world problems
  • Experience in a Linux environment, particularly in C++ and Python would be a big plus
  • Excellent academic record with a degree in a numerate discipline from a top-tier institution would be ideal
