Looking for an experienced data engineer to join their Python team. This is a pivotal role, where you’ll be tasked with developing and maintaining the data management/processing systems, which will eventually integrate with a column-oriented database. Additionally, you’ll take ownership of a new accounting project: ensuring all transactions are properly accounted for (pushing out over 1 million trades per day).
The team is spread mostly across Europe, so you’ll be expected to work (roughly) European hours to overlap with your colleagues.
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong Python knowledge, including experience developing infrastructure & data processing services and good understanding of pandas, NumPy, etc.
- Skilled in writing clean, efficient, well-structured code
- Excellent SQL skills
- Familiarity with Kafka, Kubernetes and AWS / cloud tech
- Ability to work autonomously as part of a geographically distributed team
Desirable
- Knowledge of financial markets and trading principles
- Experience with ClickHouse (or other column-oriented database)
- Experience with: Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, Grafana, Ansible, Terraform
