The DevOps team

DevOps at this global alternative IM minimises operational risk and helps the wider technology organisation be as efficient as possible, by focusing on identifying and exploiting automation opportunities. This includes ownership of both development pipeline and production environment automation, including CI, deployment and monitoring. They also work closely with the Core Architecture team, working with them to evolve and scale systems to meet the needs of the business as it continues to grow.

As a DevOps Engineer, responsibilities will typically include:

  • Infrastructure and environment automation
  • Owning, managing and maintaining the Continuous Integration infrastructure
  • Development of monitoring and diagnostics
  • Delivery of end-user automation solutions

What makes a great candidate?

In order for you to get the most out of this role, you’ll need to have:

  • PowerShell / scripting language
  • C#, Java or Python – prior history as developer or the ability to code
  • Infrastructure As Code – Ansible, Terraform or equivalent
  • Containerisation using Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
  • Monitoring with ELK, Grafana or equivalent
  • CI/CD with TeamCity
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Windows and Linux administration experience
  • A-Levels at grade A*/A/B/ (or international equivalent) and a minimum 2.1 degree in Computer Science, or a related field, from a Russell Group university

It is also preferable for you to have:

  • Atlassian knowledge – Bitbucket, JIRA
  • Artifact storage using Artifactory
  • Octopus Deploy
  • Static analysis tools e.g. SonarQube
  • Control-M
  • Cloud experience (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • VMware (vSphere) and SAN experience

About the Company

My client is a global alternative investment fund manager combining relative value and directional trading across global macro asset classes to generate uncorrelated returns. The core portfolio structure of intersecting product verticals is designed to deliver for investors in all market conditions. Currently employing over 225 people between their London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
